I made a list for my favorite sports teams' accounts. I added them so I could read just sports material in one place. I have never used lists before. In fact, I did not even know that this option was available. It does seem to be an efficient way to use twitter.

Tech Tip: Browser Bookmarks

I already save browser bookmarks in google chrome as you have listed in your instructions for this assignment. I really enjoy this feature because it allows easy access to look for web pages that I need. I enjoy the strategy that I currently use, and I am very happy with it. That being said, I did enjoy reading through the other strategies that were listed, and I might try to employ some of them as the semester progresses.

Tech Tip: Canvas Profile

I used this week's tech tip to update my canvas profile. I was unaware that you could add a picture, so I did that. I am a huge hat lover, so I chose one of the few pictures in which I was not wearing a hat. I do not take many photos. I also included my major and graduation year in my profile.

Tech Tip: Word Counter

I installed the word counter in google chrome. As a science major, we are always taught to be as clear and concise as possible, so I often struggle to meet the minimum on word counts. I find this extension of chrome to be very helpful. Usually, I would just pull up a Microsoft word document and type first on it in order to have a word count, so this is very helpful.

Tech Tip: Following at Twitter

I decided to follow a few OU related accounts. An important one is the OU Emergency Prep. I find this useful because it gives helpful updates about severe weather and other must know news for OU students. I also follow the OU Health Hut so that i can see when things such as the flu shot clinic are offered in Goddard. Following OU accounts on twitter is very helpful to stay up to date on everything happening.

Tech Tip: Canvas Dashboard

I enjoy using the canvas dashboard. I have already gone through and removed courses from previous semesters. I also love that you can add nicknames to your courses. This makes them easier to find instead of having to remember the course numbers from three different biology courses every semester. I just turned off the color overlay and it does make the classes appear more clearly.

Tech Tip: Canvas Notifications

I have actually already configured my canvas notifications. I have it set up to where I get notifications through my email, my text messages, and pop up notifications from the canvas mobile app on my iPhone. Most of my notifications are about updated grades and upcoming assignment due dates. I have found these to be very helpful reminders and useful for quick checks on grades.

Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

I actually just installed the canvas mobile app on my iPhone earlier this week. I find it very helpful for organizing my school work on the go. I am able to pull up documents for readings and homework right there on my phone at anytime. This makes access to studying much easier. It also allows me to check my grades at any time. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy the canvas mobile app.
